Ramadan 1441/2020 – Feed the Fasting Program – Weekend Iftar Pack
Dear Students and Staff,
Assalaamu ‘alaykum warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh,
We pray this message reaches you in the best of Imaan, health and safety.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged us to feed the fasting person:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “He who provides a fasting person something with which to break his fast, will earn the same reward as the one who was observing the fast, without diminishing in any way the reward of the latter.” [At-Tirmidhi].
The current COVID-19 situation is a trying time for all of us. It is a time for us to be patient and hope reward from Allah, a time to return to Allah in repentance and a time to reform our lives in a positive way.
In light of this, the Muslim Chaplain of QUT and the Muslim Chaplain Volunteers Team of QUT are organizing meals to be distributed on the weekend during Ramadhan to university students in QUT. One of the reasons we are putting great effort into this is to help alleviate the difficulties that our international students are facing financially due to the current COVID19 situation. Registration is essential for students to collect their packed meal. More information about registration can be found below.
We have estimated that the total cost of the meals for each weekend will be $2000. To help fund this iftar, we would like to ask for your generous donations to help make this effort a success and, more importantly, attain great rewards in this blessed month of Ramadan. Donations can be made into the bank account listed below:
